Weight Watchers Jalapeno Cheese SpreadI've said it before and I'll say it again: I don't believe in a life without cheese.  I'm a big cheese fan. Big. Huge! Love me some cheese!  Ok, I'll calm down.

I've also been a big Laughing Cow fan for a long time, but lately had been getting bored with their only three flavors: herb, herb and plain (French Onion and Garlic & Herb taste the same to me).  While they're delicious and always a staple in my fridge, I really wanted something else.  When I found out about Laughing Cow's three new flavors, Blue Cheese, Mozzarella, Sundried Tomato and Basil and especially the Queso Fresco and Chipotle variety, I was so excited to try them, but can't find them at any of my local grocers, despite requesting they start carrying them.

While at Albertson's one day, I spied the Weight Watchers answer to Laughing Cow cheese wedges -- and they had flavors that my beloved Cow did not, like Parmesan Peppercorn and Jalapeno.  I grabbed the Jalapeno Pepper variety, threw it in my cart and now, well... here we are.

First off, the taste is really good.  I made a breakfast burrito this morning with egg whites, a La  Tortilla Factory Smart & Delicious 100 Calorie Traditional tortilla and this spread on it.  Totally delicious. The texture was nice, not chalky or waxy; it melted fabulously and spread like a dream. All in all, very similar to Laughing Cow.

However, I was bummed to find out that for the same amount of Points®, I actually get less cheese in the Weight Watchers' wedge.  Laughing Cow's cheese wedge is a sturdy lil' .75 oz wedge while the WW variety is only .67oz.  And you only get 6 wedges in the WW round, as opposed to 8 wedges in the Laughing Cow container. So all in all, you get 2 more ounces of cheese with Laughing Cow -- that's almost 2 full wedges worth!  That's a lotta cheese when you're paying $3.99 (sometimes more!) for a container.

Would I buy it again? Yes, probably -- but only if it's on sale. I'd rather get plain light Creamy Swiss Laughing Cow and more of it than pay more for less product.  I think Weight Watchers needs to come down in price to compensate for the lesser quantity or pony up mo' cheese.

I give this 3.5 donuts.
